Excise tax to be paid in MNT

Tax revenue in 2014 was cut by 1 trillion MNT, and this year it is clear that the budget taxation revenue of this year will be short by the same amount.

When Parliament made changes to the Budget Law of 2015, it included amendments to the following tax laws:

As indicated in Article 6.5 of the Excise Taxation Law, “Excise tax payment equal to 25,000 USD will be imposed to enterprises in charge of Internet, cellular phone activities, and gambling." This article has been changed with excise tax payment equal to 36,250,000 MNT to be imposed on these enterprises.

Article 6.6 stating, “Excise tax will be imposed based on the currency exchange rate of Mongol Bank of that particular date,” has been invalidated.

Excise taxes will not be imposed in USD, and starting from January 23, they are now being imposed in MNT.
