By invitation of the President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj is paying an official visit to the Czech Republic from January 18-20.
Press and media of the Czech Republic noted the arrival of the Mongolian President in Prague by train. The last visit of a state leader to the Czech Republic by train was almost 30 years ago.
President Elbegdorj traveled from Berlin, Germany, on the Euro City train, and upon his arrival in Prague, he was greeted by representatives from the President’s Administration Office, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives from the Embassy of Mongolia in the Czech Republic.
Today, the President will meet with President Zeman, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, and heads of Czech parliamentary committees.
The visit by the President falls on the same year as the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Tomorrow, President Elbegdorj is planning to visit Karl University in Prague and meet with Czech students who are studying in the field of Mongolian studies.
After his official visit to the Czech Republic, the President will participate in the 45th World Economic Forum to be held in Davos, from January 21-24. During the 45th World Economic Forum, the President is going to attend conferences on mining and metallurgical policy, an anti-corruption partnership event, and the 2015 National Water Program and Economic Leaders meeting.
During the forum, the President will meet with leaders of several countries and exchange views regarding further partnership.
