Glass Account reporting procedure has now been implemented by the Water Supply and Sewage Authority of Ulaanbaatar, with information available to the public at www.usug.ub.gov.mn.
On January 1, 2015, the Glass Account law on transparent financial reporting came into force, requiring government organizations and agencies to implement new procedure on reporting their expenditures and financial data.
The purpose of this law is to make sure that the state and local budgets and property are being used and managed effectively and efficiently; that the process of decision making is transparent, open and clear; and that the public has a system to monitor all financial activities involving taxpayer dollars.
