Mongolia is observing International Anti-Corruption Day today, December 9th.
The annual observation was designed to raise public awareness of corruption worldwide, prevent corruption, and promote effective anti-corruption measures.
Transparency International has issued the Corruption Perceptions Index for the past 20 years, an analysis of state organizations and agencies around the world based on data from independent institutions specializing in governance and business climate analysis.
According to the 2014 Corruption Perceptions Index, Mongolia scored 30 points and ranked 80th among 175 countries. The ranking is 0 to 100, with 0 being "highly corrupt" and 100 being "very clean".
In recent years, Mongolia's ranking has changed regularly. Mongolia ranked 94th in 2012, 83rd in 2013 and now 80th in 2014.
