A trilateral tourism research conference between Mongolia, China and Russia was held in Huhhot, Inner Mongolia.

Previously, the conference was organized under the name "Conference on Border Regional Tourism between Mongolia and China". Starting this year, the conference has expanded to include Ulaanbaatar and Zabaykalsky Krai in Russia.

At the trilateral conference, the parties agreed to launch a road trip on a route from Northeastern China-Chita-Ulan-Ude-Irkutsk – Ulaanbaatar-Arkhashaat, and a tourist train trip called “Steppe Star” on a Huhhot-Ulaanbaatar-Ulan-Ude route. They discussed the opportunities to expand  a trip for youth in Inner Mongolia and  Zabaykalsky Krai to Ulaanbaatar, and promote and advertise a “Tea Road” trip currently operated by the three countries to attract tourists from Zabaykalsky Krai.
