A magnitude 4.7 earthquake occurred 24 km from Nomgon sum in Umnugovi Province at 11:05 a.m. (Ulaanbaatar time) today, November 19th.
The location of the earthquake was 42.84 degrees longitude and 105.44 degrees latitude.
The Research Center for Astronomy and Geophysics at the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia reported, “Small tremors followed the strong quake, but now they are gone. Local residents of Nomgon sum and the province center felt the quake. Specialists are now working to provide more details about the quake in Dalanzadgad sum.”
A magnitude 4.7 quake and its aftershock tremors can cause minor damage to buildings and homes. But there is no report of loss or damage due to the quake.
