The
DP group in Parliament on Monday discussed the Child Money issue and the Parliament
Election Law. Its Head, Ch.Saikhanbileg, told media that it supported the
Government proposal, already approved by Standing Committees, not to resume
paying allowances to children, but, instead, to give every member of a family,
irrespective of age, MNT10,000 a month from the Human Development Fund from
August 1.  The amount will be raised in stages from 2011 to reach MNT21,000.

Parliament
is discussing two basically similar drafts of a new Election Law. The DP group has
established a working group to prepare a new draft incorporating the best of
both that would be acceptable to both parties. If this effort succeeds, the draft
may be approved in the present session.

He
denied reports that the working group led by N.Enkhbold has not been meeting,
saying that it had met three times last week. Asked about the DP’s preference, Saikhanbileg
said the party’s MPs favored the proportional system within a mixed system.
