Health Minister of Mongolia N.Udval made a statement to the media denying a report about an Ebola case in Bayankhongor Province that spread through social networks over the weekend and mislead the public.
The Health Minister appeals to citizens to look for verified news and information about Ebola on the official web site of the Ministry of Health of Mongolia.
The World Health Organization delivered a diagnostic device for the detection of Ebola virus infection to the National Research Center for Infectious Diseases Mongolia.
A total of 100 diagnostic devices for the detection of Ebola arrived in Ulaanbaatar, and Mongolia is the first country in Asia to receive the devices from the WHO.
WHO Representative in Mongolia, Dr. Soe Nyunt-U said, “The National Research Center for Infectious Diseases Mongolia has a laboratory to detect Ebola virus using molecular biology research. Although, these devices delivered by WHO will detect Ebola virus before laboratory research.”
