The international Judo Grand Prix tournament started Thursday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

From the start of the tournament winners of men`s 60 and 66 kg and women`s 48 and 52 kg events seized the podium. Mongolian judokas grabbed a gold, two silver and two bronze medals on the first day.

Mongolian judoka IM D.Amartuvshin in the men`s 60 kg weight division won the gold medal defeating Uzbekistan`s Diyorbek Urozboev in 1 minute and 19 seconds. From the qualifying matches D.Amartuvshin overpowered three strong rivals of the host country, leaving Uzbek fans disappointed. D.Amartuvhsin won silver from Astana Grand Prix and gold at Tashkent Grand Prix.

IM D.Altansukh in the men`s 66 kg weight category was defeated by Uzbekistan's judoka Rishod Sobirov for the final round and claimed silver.

In the women`s 52 kg weight category Mongolian judoka IM A.Tsolmon was defeated by Romanian judoka Andreea Chitu and given a penalty but won silver.

IM G.Kherlen in the men`s 60 kg and IM G.Otgontsetseg in the women`s 48 kg each won bronze medals. G.Otgontsetseg brought home the only gold medal for Mongolia from Astana Grand Prix.
