This year marks the 60^th anniversary of State Central Hospital III in Mongolia, named after the Russian doctor Pavel Nikolaevich Shastin.  For the celebration of the anniversary, a historical photo exhibition and clinical equipment once used in the hospital went on display.

State Central Hospital III opened to the public in 1954 with two surgical wards, each with 50 beds, and an ear, nose and throat ward with 15 beds.

One of the first medical specialists invited to Mongolia from the former Soviet Union, Shastin founded the European hospital in Mongolia in 1923.

A ceremonial meeting on the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of P.N.Shastin was also held. Former and current medical specialists, nurses and staff of the hospital attended the meeting.

For the celebration of the 60^th anniversary of the hospital, a grandchild of P.N.Shastin, surgeon Nicoloi Pavlovich Shastin of the City Clinical Hospital for Children named after N.F. Filatov, came to Mongolia with his son.
