The 2008 Beijing Olympics champion, judoka N.Tuvshinbayar, defeated athletes from Tajikistan, South Korea, and Uzbekistan in the men's 100 kg competition, and bested Kazakhstan's Maxim Rakov for the gold medal at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
This is the third gold medal earned by a Mongolian judoka during the 17th Asian Games.
N.Tuvhsinbayar said at a press conference following the competition, "This is the third time that I have competed at the Asian Games. I am glad that the first medal is gold."
On Monday, Mongolian judoka U.Duurenbayar grabbed silver in the men's +100 kg event, while L.Otgonbaatar won bronze in the men's 90 kg event. For female judokas, B.Munkhtuya in the women's -78 kg event, and O.Javzmaa in the +78 kg event were ranked in fifth place with their successes.
Mongolian judokas have won three gold, three silver and four bronze medals, ranking in fifth place in the medal tally at the Incheon Asian Games.
