Leaders of Mongolia and Russia make joint statement

The President of Mongolia and president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, made a joint statement after a ceremony for the signing bilateral agreements.

President Ts.Elbegdorj noted, “in the scope of the visit, one-on-one and extended bilateral talks with Russian President V.Putin solved significant issues. In particular, Mongolia and Russia reached a wide understanding, exchanging views on the three neighbors'  relations. This visit had a busy schedule but its subjects were of great importance."

A total of 15 agreements, protocols and MoUs were signed between the ministries of the two governments and entities of the two countries. As a result, the agreement on visa-free travel policy was resolved.  Work to increase transport on Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC, to modernize and make it dual will be complete by 2020.

Mongolia and Russia agreed to reach trade volume of 10 billion USD by 2020, and to expand collaboration between culture and media organizations.

Russian President V.Putin said that Russia is willing to increase auto technology industries and Russia is able to import meat from Mongolia in the case that imported meat meets veterinary and hygienic standards in Russia.

Putin also said that Russia will collaborate on the key activities of the UN and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
