The Amateur World Powerlifting Congress (AWPC) World Championships were held in Moscow, Russia, from August 20-24.

Twenty-seven Mongolian athletes competed in the AWPC World Championships, where 1,800 athletes from 18 countries participated. Mongolian athlete M.Batbayar in the men's 100 kg event won gold with the best 200 kg squat and best 275 kg bench press.

He also won bronze in the division for best deadlift.

IM M.Batbayar won the WPL Cup last July, and grabbed a silver medal from the Powerlifting Asian Open Championships.

M.Batbayar, a staff member of the special forces and captain in the Court Decision Enforcement General Office, has been training in powerlifting for nine years.
