The
Mayor and the Minister for Road, Transportation and Urban Development have
jointly decided that the decision to stop microbuses plying on downtown roads will
remain, despite protests by microbus operators. The ban came into effect on
Monday.
However,
the Metropolitan Public Transportation Department and the Traffic Police have
said there would be new jobs for 200 microbus drivers. According to
P.Narantsetseg, director of Public Transportation Department, bus companies
will employ these 200 people after a course of training.
According to Traffic Police, bus timing will be
extended to 10.30 pm soon and will be further extended after some time.
