On the first day of the 2014 World Judo Championships in Chelyabinsk, Russia, Mongolian judoka G.Boldbaatar won the gold in the men's 60 kg event.

In the semifinal round, Mongolian judoka G.Boldbaatar claimed gold, defeating European champion Beslan Mudranov (RUS).

G.Boldbaatar earned the first gold medal for the Mongolian national team at the 2014 World Judo Championships being held at the Traktor Ice Arena.

In the men's 60 kg event, where 60 judokas fought for gold, Mongolian judoka and International Master G.Boldbaatar lead the D division.

Men's 60 kg:

Gold medal: IM G.Boldbaatar (MGL)

Silver medal: Beslan Mudranov (RUS)

Bronze medal: Naohisa Takato (JPN) and Amiran Papinashvili (GEO)

Women's 48 kg:

Gold medal: Ami Kondro (JPN)

Silver : Paula Pareto (ARG)

Bronze medal : Amandine Buchard (FRA) and Maria Celia Laborde (CUB)
