Mongolia attended the APEC Third Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM3) in Beijing, China, as an observer on August 20-21, 2014.
During the two-day meeting, 300 Senior Officials from 21 APEC member economies held in-depth discussions centered around the theme "Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership" and the three priority areas, including regional economic integration, innovative development, economic reform and growth, and comprehensive connectivity and infrastructure development.
Officials of Mongolia, chaired by the head of the Department of Policy Planning and Research at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Ts.Batbayar, attended the APEC Third Senior Officials' Meeting.
Mongolia represented the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) and held business meetings with the chair of APEC Third Senior Officials' Meeting, Chinese Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Lee Baodun and economic member countries.
Before the Senior Officials' Meeting, sub-committees of APEC met with groups of experts, and other sessions were held between August 6-19.
