The World Bank's new Country Representative for Mongolia has been appointed. New Country Representative for Mongolia James Anderson took office on August 18, to start next week.
James Anderson is a U.S. national and a PhD in Economics. He is an experienced banker who has been working for the World Bank since 1997.
James Anderson worked in the field office in the administration of USAID as a Field Coordinator in Mongolia between 1992-1996 contracted to provide technical assistance in the area of economic and institutional reform in Mongolia, prior to joining World Bank Mongolia as a short term consultant in 1996. In August 2014, he returned to Mongolia from Vietnam, where he had been working on governance since 2008.
Anderson is expected to make a courtesy calls to the Minister of Economic Development and Finance Minister soon.
The Country Director for Mongolia, China and Korea, Klaus Rohland, said, “Mr. James Anderson will lead the World Bank mission targeted to build a system which supports development in Mongolia, reduces poverty, distributes the growth benefits equally to civilians in collaboration with the Government of Mongolia, and other stakeholders."
