The Forum of Mayors of Northeast Asian Cities, a first for Ulaanbaatar, is being attended by over 120 delegates including the Deputy Mayor of Beijing, city authorities from Tianjin, Hailaar, Shenyang, Huh Hot, Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk , Pyeongchang, Niigata,  Pyongyang, Hamhung, Wonsan,  Rason, Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan, Erdenet, Baruun-Urt, and Choibalsan.

In the scope of the forum, Ulaanbaatar and Beijing established a sister city relationship, signing a cooperation memorandum of understanding.  The cooperation MoU was signed by Ulaanbaatar Governor and City Mayor E.Bat-Uul and Vice Mayor of Beijing Chen Gang, on August 18th.

The MoU agreed to expand economic and business relations to reach desired results.

Ulaanbaatar City Government is to hold a exhibition for Mongolian manufacturers to display their products for sale in Beijing in September, in accordance with an initiative by the Ulaanbaatar City Mayor.

Ulaanbaatar has sister city relationships with over 40 cities in the world.
