During Thursday`s plenary session meeting of Parliament, MP Sh.Tuvdendorj was appointed as the new Minister of Industry and Agriculture with 85 percent of the vote. The result of the poll shows that 34 out of 40 MPs agreed with the nomination. The nomination of MP Sh.Tuvdendorj has been a hot topic over a number of days and prompted a long debate over the double-coat position.

Kh.Battulga resigned from his position as cabinet minister in May claiming, “I supported the bill to make amendments into the Law on Government by the President, the so called double-coat bill, which was to ban a parliamentarian from holding a post in the cabinet. It is inappropriate for me to hold this position as I supported the bill myself.”

The final decision is that MP Sh.Tuvdendorj will become the Minister of Industry and Agriculture, despite President Ts.Elbegdorj refusing to accept his nomination as the Minister of Industry and Agriculture.
