The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj officially announced the initiative for the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security at the 7^th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies in April, 2013. Mongolia has friendly relations with every country in the region and therefore aims to contribute to having challenging issues in the region resolved in a peaceful way during the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue.

Due to the President`s initiative, Mongolia hosted for the first time the Forum of Northeast Asian women parliamentarians in 2013.

Mongolia is planning to organize the forum of Mayors of Northeast Asian cities this year as well. The Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security is not a single action, but a mechanism of multilateral dialogues depending on various issues.

The key purpose of the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue is to provide a platform to every country equally to define their position and seek ways to reach resolutions.

This would be the first international scientific conference that will be organized in the framework of the initiative of the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security. The conference will be represented by over 100 scholars and researchers from Mongolia, North Korea, the Republic of Korea, China, the Russian Federation, Japan, the USA and the EU.
