Ulaanbaatar City is to host the Ulaanbaatar marathon with 30, 000 participants on June 7th as the city is celebrating the 375th anniversary of its foundation.

The Ulaanbaatar marathon encourages not only leading Mongolian runners but also international runners who ranked the highest in international competitions including the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics Champion, winner of 1994 Asian Games Hwang Young-Cho, 2010 Asian Games marathon silver medalist Yamamoto Yoshihiro, and a Japanese half marathon runner Ito Koichi.

Ulaanbaatar marathon categories

Amateur marathon:

Up to 17 years 4000m (only amateurs)
between 18-35 ages 5000m (only amateurs)
between 36-49 ages 8000m (only amateurs)
above 50 ages 4000m (only amateurs)

Half and full marathon series:

Only marathon runners aged over 18 are allowed to take part in 21095m and 42190m long distance race. There will also be a marathon for family and disabled people of 1500m.

The Health Authority of the Capital City will provide emergency services during the Ulaanbaatar marathon along with affiliated health agencies organizing medical points in five places.
