The Lao Ministry of Home Affairs and the Civil Service Council of Mongolia Wednesday reached an agreement to boost bilateral cooperation, especially in civil service management.
A memorandum of understanding on the heightened cooperation between the two sides was signed by Minister of Home Affairs Mr Xaysy Santivong and President of the Civil Service Council of Mongolia Dr Tsogoo Baltav.
Mongolian Ambassador to Laos Mr Tuvdendorj Janabazar also attended the ceremony, along with other senior officials from both sides.
The agreement is aimed at promoting cooperation and the sharing of experiences between the two countries, especially in improving the management of each country's civil service.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a working visit by the Mongolian delegation, led by Dr Tsogoo Baltav.
During the visit, a seminar was also held to allow the two sides to present the lessons they had learnt on developing civil servants.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Mr Khammoun Viphongxay, on behalf of the ministry, gave the Mongolian delegation a rundown of the Lao civil service management structure. Dr Tsogoo Baltav then explained the Mongolian system in return.
Mongolian senior officials led by Dr Tsogoo Baltav also paid a courtesy visit to Lao Deputy Prime Minister Asang Laoly and other senior Party leaders.
