Wednesday`s plenary session meeting of Parliament held the final discussion on a draft law (referred to as the “double coat” law) to make an amendment into the law on the Government of Mongolia. However, 39 out of 74 parliamentarians voted not to pass the amendment, so the draft law was not approved.

The draft law to make an amendment into the law on the Government of Mongolia, initiated by President Ts.Elbegdorj, was designed to ban parliamentarians from also holding a post in the cabinet at the same time.

Also a draft law to make an amendment into the law on the Parliament was rejected as 39 percent of MPs voted against the proposal.
