Traffic Police of the General Police Agency Mongolia declared April 10th as the “Day to prevent children from traffic accidents”. Yesterday at Freedom Square the “Love me” day event was held for the “Day to Prevent Children from Traffic Accidents”.

As part of the event, a children`s parade was held to call for attention from drivers and adults and a lamp lighting ceremony in remembrance of children road traffic victims was organized at Freedom Square. To show how tragic the traffic accidents are, 37 empty chairs will be erected as evidence.

It is reported that 37 children died on the roads due to traffic accidents last year alone. Traffic Police have called on parents to take children to schools and to ensure their children know about traffic safety rules on the road.
