
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation is a permanently active Eurasian political, economic and military organization. At the meeting parties had talks over the bipartite and trilateral cooperation on commerce, economy and freight forwarding that is being implemented between Mongolia and the SCO member states and 5 observers.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was founded in 2001 in Shanghai with member states China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Now Mongolia, Iran, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan have observer status for the SCO as well as equal rights and mutually beneficial cooperation with Belarus, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
Government officials of Mongolia discussed initiatives to hold several activities in 2014 in the scope of the 10th anniversary of Mongolia becoming an observer country for the SCO at the meeting.
