The Mongolian ice hockey team won the bronze medal at the 2014 Challenge Cup of Asia in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is the second time the Mongolian ice hockey team has won bronze in the last four “Сhallenge Cup” competitions.

The Challenge Cup of Asia, organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) took place in Abu Dhabi, UAE between March 16th and 22nd.

The Mongolian ice hockey team lost to last year`s Cup holder, the Taiwanese team, 3-10 in the first game, but defeated Hong Kong 9-2, Thailand 8-2 and Kuwait 3-1. The Mongolian team finished with the bronze by losing to the host UAE team 3-1 in the match for silver on Saturday. The two teams played well in the second game and drew with 1-1, but Mongolia lost by two points in the final game.  The Taiwanese team again keeps the Cup and the UAE team took the silver.
