On day 12 of the Haru Basho or the Spring Grand Sumo Tournament, Ozeki Kakuryu made an ambitious step on his quest for the Yokozuna promotion on Thursday by beating Yokozuna Harumafuji.

Ozeki Kakuryu is at the head of the challenge, remaining as leader with 12 wins and only one loss. Ozeki Kakuryu is promised the Yokozuna title if he wins 13 fights or more.
Hakuho M.Davaajargal beat his rival Kisenosato (8-4) and is also leading the Haru Basho with 12 wins on day 12.

Kyokutenho N.Tsevegnyam beat Azumaryu S.Todbileg (8-4) and Kagamio B.Nanjid won against Sadanoumi to successfully continue in the Haru Basho with 50 percent success. Kagamio B.Nanjid needs to win over the next days in order to finish with at least 50 percent success.
