
The television series is now being filmed in Johor, Malaysia. An exclusive 30,000 square meter pavilion was built for the filming of the series that follows the places such as the Great Mongol Empire, the Southern Song dynasty in China and places where Marco Polo visited in the 13th century.
The filmmaking team of over 600 people from 20 countries is working on the project by Hollywood producers John Fusco and Richard Sharkey and project director Daniel Minahan.
The project producer of Kublai Khan, Richard Sharkey, noted the importance of the role of Mongolians in making the film so asked for support from the Embassy of Mongolia to involve Mongolians who work and study in Singapore during the filming of the series.
Ambassador B.Delgermaa expressed special thanks to the filmmaking team for their production inspired by the Great Mongol Empire and pledged different kinds of support from the Embassy of Mongolia in Singapore.
