Vossloh Fastening Systems has received a contract from Samsung C&T Engineering and Construction Mongolia to supply MNG 30 fastening system for a new heavy-haul line in Mongolia.
Fasteners are to be manufactured in Werdohl, Germany, and shipment is scheduled to begin within a few weeks. Vossloh said that the shipment will be completed within the first half of 2015.
Modification of Vossloh”s W30HH fasteners, MNG are used along with concrete sleepers on ballasted tracks, and will be applied to 270km of track on the 217km line.
According to Vossloh, MNG 30 is designed to handle the coal shipments on the line, to run from mines at Tavan Tolgoi to Gashun Sukhait on the Chinese border.
The system can also withstand Mongolia”s harsh climate and the challenging soil conditions on the line running through the Gobi desert.
