Mountaineer, State Merit Athlete L.Boldbaatar who disappeared on the descend after climbing  the 4050 meter high Malchin peak of Altai Tavan Bogd in Bayan-Ulgii aimag was found dead on Thursday evening. The large rescue team called a stop to the search after they found the mountaineer`s body at around 05:25 pm local time.

From the time the mountaineer`s daughter contacted police for help after he disappeared on February 14th, a rescue team has been searching on the mountain. However the rescue team was interrupted by bad weather conditions in the mountain during the search. The mountaineer, State Merit Athlete L.Boldbaatar began climbing Altai Tavan Bogd along with his daughter on February 13th but on the way back from the peak, the mountaineer became lost. The mountaineer`s daughter was afraid he might have fallen into a crevice. The rescue team of 40 that conducted the search included rescuers and staff from the National Emergency Management Agency, mountaineers and local volunteers.
