The Yasar Dogu International Tournament was held in Istanbul, Turkey between February 15th and 16th.
The first day of the tournament revealed some outstanding winners in the men`s freestyle 57 kg, 65 kg, 74kg and 97 kg events. Mongolian State Merit athlete, freestyle wrestler of the “Aldar” sport committee, Ganzorig Mandakhnaran took the bronze medal in the 65 kg event.
Mongolia`s freestyle wrestler, Batbold Nomin, had the greatest day of his international wrestling career by winning gold in the 57 kg class at Yasar Dogu International. Batbold Nomin competed under the guidance and training of State Merit athlete of Mongolia, two time silver medalist of the World Championships, O.Purevbaatar.
On the second day of the tournament, Mongolia`s freestyle wrestler from the “Khilchin” sport committee, E.Nyam-Ochir, won silver in the 61 kg event. In the semifinals, E.Nyam-Ochir defeated Azerbaijan`s Ahmadnabi Gvarzatilov 7 to 1 but lost to US wrestler Jimmy Kennedy in the finals.
