A modern grocery market will be built on the site of the razed food section of Narantuul market.  A fire destroyed the food section last August.

Now the site where the grocery section of Narantuul market was situated has been cleared ready for the new construction. The owner, former MP Sh.Saikhansambuu, has presented the project design scheme for the construction to the Ulaanbaatar City architect. It is expected to be built to the latest standards. The foundations for the construction of the new grocery market are scheduled to be completed in April 2014 and the structure is planned to be built later this year.

During the construction process Narantuul market will remain open to customers. The owners of Narantuul market say that renters of the destroyed food section will be offered employment first.
