The television studio “Portal” is producing a children`s television series based on an adaptation of the Adventures of Buratino or The Golden Key a short story by Russian  and Soviet writer A.Tolstoy. It is to be called “Buratino” after the main character.

Directed by N.Soyolbat, “Buratino” will feature a young talented actor B.Altangerel starring as the main character Buratino and actor M.Nyamdorj as father Carlo. Filming for the picture has now started and is expected to be finished on April 20th.

The Adventures of Buratino or The Golden Key is familiar to Mongolian audience as there were numerous books and plays popular in Mongolia during the Soviet era. The studio wants to make Buratino, a character that is given lessons through numerous adventures, a feature. The Adventures of Buratino or The Golden Key was adapted from the fairy tale of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi.
