The Green Tara was stolen at the West Choir monastery, located in the center of Tsagaandelger sum in Dundgovi province, on the night of September 25th, 2011. The 30-35 cm statue of Green Tara, made in 1691, is said to visualize the aspects of 21 different Taras. The statue is dressed in silky red robes with rose, red and green colored edging and a crowned head. Two lotus’ are situated on her left and right shoulders.
