A regular cabinet meeting issued a decision to organize the “Fourth National Sports Games” nationwide across Mongolia.

The National Sports Games will feature national sports in two stages. The first competition will be organized in provinces and districts in the city in the first half of the year. The Camel polo finals will be organized at the same time as the wild horse training competition and horse lassoing competition in September.

The main features of the Fourth National Sports Games will be the national sports that include the “three manly sports” of Mongolia, but also popular sports that people from the countryside can widely participate in to challenge athlete`s courage and agility.

The following sports are included in the Fourth National Sports Games:

1. National wrestling
2. Horse racing
3. National archery (khalkh, uriankhai, buriad and traditional archery styles)
4. Knucklebone shooting, popular knucklebone games
5. Horse training sports (wild horse training, lassoing and uurga)
6. Camel polo

For the Fourth National Sports Games different ethnic group`s traditional sports games and contests are expected to be held in various provinces, sums and districts.

The finals for the national sports games will be organized and winners will be awarded according to Decree 183 issued by the Government of Mongolia in 2013.

The National Sports Games are expected to be held in the third quarter of 2014.
