Employees of Bus-1, the Capital city own enterprise, are on the second day of strikes since January 8th, 2014. On Thursday morning employees of three other bus companies,  “Tenuun ogoo”, “Tenuun delger” and “Transbus”, that provide public transport service joined the strike encouraging the strike called by employees of Bus-1 and refused to go out for work. The Public Transport Office has now announced that the employees of bus companies “Tenuun ogoo”, “Tenuun delger” and “Transbus” returned to work according to the schedule halting their strike following the report.

Employees of Bus-1 are keeping up the strike for the second day, demanding a salary increase and replacement of the company’s authority. Strikers have commented that they will not halt until their demands are accepted fairly. Bus-1, Capital city own enterprise provided a service of 26 buses on routes to remote area of the capital city on Wednesday. On Thursday morning strikers blocked the buses from going out on to the routes. Bus-1 Company was forced to provide 11 buses to passengers in remote Ulziit and Shuvuun residential areas where no bus service except Bus-1 goes.

The employees of Bus-1 who are on strike demanded that the Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E.Bat-Uul solve the issue and they claim they will not halt until they see the mayor. Local websites report that the Governor of Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar E.Bat-Uul blamed the employees of the public transport service for calling a strike during the height of winter causing trouble to citizens.
