
Widely respected 8th VIII Jebtsundamba Khutughtu (1867-1924) played a significant role in the national independence revolution. In 1911 Mongols restored their independence from the new Republic of China and declared reigning spiritual and political ruler the Bogd Khan of Outer Mongolia. Historians say that Bogd Khan was the spiritual leader of Mongols during that time of Mongolian National Liberation Revolution of 1911. So now it is planning to build a statue of the 8th Jebtsundamba Khutughtu at the Independence Square according to a decision by the Capital City Citizens” Representative Khural.
