The award ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Department of Asia and the Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, representatives from the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Department of Central Asian Studies of Warsaw Universities and the Ambassador from Mongolia to the Republic of Poland and other officials.
Ambassador A.Ganbaatar presented the High State Award of Mongolia, Altangadas (Polar Star), and announced the decree given by the President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj, to Polish ethnographer Slavoj Shinkevich Ph.D, for his significant and numerous works on ethnography and roles in Mongolian studies. Professor Slavoij Shinkevich Ph.D spoke about the country of Mongolia and about the development of Mongolian studies to guests and attendees at the event.
