Livestock population census is annually conducted during the middle of December as Mongolians normally manage preparing meat that is available during winter season.

The National Statistics Committee reports that preparation work in advance of livestock population census. The livestock population census is expected to start on December 15th and last 10 days to update statistics, surveys or census data about livestock population from different animal species in provinces, capital city, sum, bag and districts.

Out of total livestock population 5.7 percent was horses, 6.3 percent cows, 0.8 camels, 44.3 percent sheep, 42.9 percent goats.
