International Day of Persons with Disabilities is annually observed on December 3rd.

The United Nations (UN) has celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities through out its member countries.  This year International Day of Persons with Disabilities is marked with theme of “Break barriers, open doors: for an inclusive society for all”.

Ulaanbaatar City Mayor, E.Bat-Uul has issued a decree for the “Observance of infrastructure accessibility standard for persons with disabilities”.

The decree obliges the Ulaanbaatar municipality and local district administrations to comply with standards MNS 6055:2009 and MNS 568252006 in Mongolia for persons with disabilities in public spaces including public service buildings, roads and squares.

The Ulaanbaatar City Mayor E.Bat-Uul also ordered the Authority for General Planning of Ulaanbaatar City to carry out the obligation by complying to the standards on accessible for persons with disabilities in newly built constructions and buildings in Ulaanbaatar City.
