Numerous complaints that the bank violated its employees civil rights were delivered to the National Human Rights Commission. Directors of the local commercial bank denied the claims. Because of the complaints about violations of the civil rights of employees the National Human Rights Commission conducted auditing on the bank. As a result of the auditing, it was revealed that female employees of the bank are not allowed to become pregnant at least two years after signing the labor contract according to its internal rules. The results of the auditing also revealed dozens of offense related to civil rights.
The National Human Rights Commission delivered a notice to the local commercial Capital Bank, but the bank failed to consider the notice and rejected to accept the concerns, saying the claim was baseless.
The local commercial Capital Bank was established in 1990 with the name of JV Bank of Industries, then in 2003 changed name to Capital according to new internal rules passed by the Board of Directors. The bank, where there are over 400 employees, now has over 70 branches in Ulaanbaatar City and 15 different provinces of Mongolia.
