During a press conference on Thursday November 21st, the Secretary General of the Mongolian People`s Revolutionary Party, G.Shiilegdamba, denied reports that party members suggested their chairman, N.Enkhbayar, step down. The reports claimed that the suggestion was made in the form of a letter delivered to the former President who is currently receiving  treatment in South Korea.

Following the reports of local media the Executive Board of the MPRP held an emergency meeting announcing the reports are false and a defamation action.

The announcement reads that: “The members of MPRP are upset about the defamation action purposely done to call down and split MPRP by spreading bad news through the local media. We, the members of MPRP, take this responsibility seriously by announcing that MPRP did not deliver a letter to former President and the chairman of the party, N.Enkhbayar, or suggest for him to step down. None of the members of MPRP are involved in such defamation action against the party.”
