Unrefined Sea-buckthorn oil from the Mongolian sea-buckthorn crop of a collective of growers from Uvs province are to be exported to Taiwan.

The Governor of Uvs province and head of the Local Development Policy Division signed a business deal during a visit to Taiwan. In the framework of the deal with Taiwanese local governors, meetings were held with members of the sea-buckthorn growers collective in Uvs province.

The collective, consisting of several partners and cooperatives, have the intention to sell their local brand products with an international market price for processing and storing. Therefore Taiwanese enterprisers will come to Uvs province to see the sea-buckthorn collectives planting process and potential harvest of sea-buckthorn, an ecologically clean and healthy product.

Uvs sea-buckthorn is already recognized in the Japanese market for its ecological sound production and quality, which led to opportunities in the US and Indian markets. There is an increasing demand of ecologically neutral products globally.

Many countries plant sea-buckthorn, but the species that contains the 108 nutritional elements that are beneficial to human health is only grown in Mongolia.
