MP Su.Batbold, who submitted the draft law, said that the law needs an amendment to extend the national holiday during Tsagaan Sar. Mongolians live in sparsely populated areas, across a vast territory, and struggle to celebrate the holiday properly as they are unable to see parents, relatives and friends to show their respects and visit their ancestors home places in only two days.
The Standing Committee members accepted the amendments and the draft law has been submitted for review by Parliament at the session meeting.
