Held under the auspices of President Elbegdorj, the first “Singing with the wind” Khoomii (throat singing) contest for all Mongolian nationalities begins today on November 19th, 2013.

The festival where throat singers and ethnic bands have been invited from the Republic of Buryatia, Kalmykia, Tuva and Inner Mongolia will be held between November 19th and 22nd.  The organizer of the contest is the Mongolian Khoomii Association.

The winner of the Grand Prix of the singing contest will be awarded 5000 US dollars and the best band and solo throat singer will be presented with 2000 US dollars each.
