Worldwide, at least 90 million units of blood are donated each year to save lives and improve health, however this is not enough to supply the increasing demand day to day. It is believed that a safe and reliable blood supply can be built only if 3 percent of a population are blood donors. Today this is a challenging issue worldwide as only 1 percent of the population in over 30 countries are blood donors.

It is reported that there are over 60,000 donors in Mongolia. But this number is not enough to meet the demand of blood needed for medical purposes. The National blood transfusion center of Mongolia is launching the campaign “Give blood, Give life” for the second year with the support of the Capital Bank of Mongolia.

The event for blood donation will be held at the Bishrelt Hotel between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm on November 20th, 2013. Blood donation is 100 percent voluntary and non-remunerated. The campaigners call on individuals and companies to join the event to save lives by donating blood.
