Today the State Highest Prize ceremony is taking place at the Ceremonial Hall of the Government House due to the celebration of National Pride Day, the 851st anniversary of the birth of Chinggis Khaan.

On the 851st anniversary of the birth date of Chinggis Khaan, the State Highest Prize, the “Order of Chinggis khaan” was given to the 14th Prime Minister of Mongolia, D.Sodnom, by current President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj.

The prominent political figure, D.Sodnom, who served as the 14th Prime Minister of Mongolia between 1984-1990 as well as the Minister of Finance, the First Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission and the Deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers is now 80 years old.

President Elbegdorj emphasized that “the State of Mongolia is giving the Order of Chinggis Khaan in honor of the advancement of Mongolia for over sixty years” due to the role played by D.Sodnom.
