All medalists at the 2013 AIBA World Amateur Boxing Championships have been named. The Champioships are currently being held in Almaty Kazakhstan from October 14th to 26th 2013.

Mongolian fighter, London Olympic bronze medalist and World Champion bronze medalist, U.Munkh-Erdene, defeated Uzbek fighter Sanjarbek Rakhmanov for bronze and is headed for the semifinal match with Cuban fighter Yasnier Lopez to compete for silver.

There are two rounds left for him to turn his bronze medal from the 2009 World Championships in Milan into gold and raise the Mongolian flag in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
From 10 different classes there remain 40 boxers who will fight for silver on Friday October 25th. Today there will be a Grand Ceremony for the International Boxing Association (AIBA) World Boxing Academy Opening in Almaty Kazakhstan on October 24th.

Branches of the World Boxing Academy are expected to be built on every continent. Boxers from Asia will study in the Almaty Academy. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev will visit to see the World Amateur Boxing Championships.

As result of Wednesday`s quarter final medalists from 18 countries have been defined. Kazakhstan has gained 8 medals, Cuba 5, Russia 4, Azerbaijan 3, Italy 3, Uzbekstan 2, Germany 2, Brazil 2, Ireland 2 and Mongolia, Costa-Rica, Algeria, Wales, Thailand, Ukraine, Venezuel, England, Argentina each enjoy one medal each.
