Prime Minister of Mongolia N.Altankhuyag attended the opening ceremony for the 14th Western China International Fair as an honorary guest on October 23rd.

China has launched an open policy with the intention to increase investment promotion and trade cooperation in order to develop the western region of the country in the past years. The Western China International Fair has been organized by Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps along with 15 ministries of the Chinese central government and 12 provinces since 2000.

Last year`s Fair was attended by businessmen and enterprises from various fields from 51 countries and 27 provinces in China and resulted in 1,590 business agreements and deals.

This year enterprises, exhibitors, purchasers and guests from over 70 countries including Australia, Canada, Belarus, Macedonia and Tanzania are represented at the 14th Western China International Fair.

World leaders were invited to the opening ceremony of the Western China International Fair.

This year`s honorary guest, Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag, addressed attendees at the opening ceremony saying that the fair serves as an important platform in the regional and international arena for economic cooperation and emphasized he is glad that his visit starts with such an important event in China.

The Prime Minister stated that Mongolia is a country full of opportunity. Mongolia is open not only in investment in the mining field but also in light industry. He continued to say that the Mongolian Government is ready to develop mutually beneficial and long term partnerships.

The Mongolian ethnic band Domog performed at the opening ceremony for the 14th Western China International Fair.
