The Mayor’s office has granted permission to
64 organizations to keep open all night to enable people to watch FIFA World
Cup matches. However, they will not serve any alcohol after midnight.

Ulaanbaatar has 2,197 shops that sell, and
598 restaurants, 593 bars, and 294 cafes that serve alcoholic beverages. At the
end of May, the Mayor ordered the closure of 61 of these 3,682 establishments
found to serve or sell alcohol after hours. His Office has announced that all
of them can resume their operation if they did not  serve alcohol, and had facilities for discos,
karaoke and billiard.
